In cooperation with local schools and Deutscher Herold insurance, SWB offers the SchülerTicket (student ticket) to school children. It is more than a ticket, because it offers an accident insurance policy, it is a secure money card and may also be used as a school identification card.

Almost 23,000 first, second and third school pupils from 41 public and 11 private schools travel with a SWB SchülerTicket. A SchülerTicket costs up to 19,95 Euro per month depending upon the school and personal subcription conditions.

Pupils with a SchülerTicket can travel round-the-clock every day within the entire VRS system. They may also travel with a bicycle free of charge between 2:00 pm and 3:00 am on weekdays and all day on weekends and holidays.

Additional advantages:
Students with a SchülerTicket are insured by Deutscher Herold Insurance for any accident that occurs on the bus or train and at the bus or train stops.

To help protect pupils, all SchülerTickets are eTicket smart cards. These tickets provide advanced security measures against theft, fraud and loss.
